The charity making life better by water

Time for walkies event for Liverpudlians and their canine companions

We are encouraging people and their pooches to find out why life is better by water this autumn on a free waterside wellbeing walk.

Bobs the dog

Taking place from South Ferry Quay at 10am on Saturday 20 October, the two-hour guided walk will lead humans and their hounds around the dock system and along the Leeds & Liverpool Canal, with fantastic views of the River Mersey and the historic waterfront buildings.

It's a great opportunity to stretch your legs, enjoy the fresh air and take in the sights of the city and surrounding landscape. There will be freebies for all furry friends, expert advice available from a local dog trainer and vet, and dog adoption charities in attendance.

Sara Ponting, volunteer team leader at Canal & River Trust, said: "Getting out for a walk by the water is great for us and our dogs too as it brings a variety of health and wellbeing benefits such as helping us relax and providing gentle exercise.

"We hope lots of people and pooches will join us on the day so we can help them explore some of the city's wonderful waterways together."

The event is free and takes place at South Ferry Quay. There is car parking and a train station nearby. For more information, contact: [email protected]
