Making life better by water
Hanwell Flight is a series of six locks located on the Grand Union Canal in the London Borough of Ealing, in west London.
Adjacent to each lock are side-ponds, built in 1815 to conserve water. The locks and side-ponds, together with the boundary wall of St Bernard's Hospital that runs alongside the towpath between Three Bridges and Lock 96, are designated as a scheduled monument.
