The canal basin has loads of history and the old warehouses have been restored to their former glory, it could be the perfect setting for a period drama.

The basin is surrounded by a mix of modern and historic buildings with a large wharf area in the middle. On the eastern side of the basin there are restored canal warehouses with long sloping rooves that extend out over the water. Other features include trip boats, well kept canalside community gardens and a red brick canal bridge.
