Tamworth to Polesworth

Are you in need of recharging?

Our canals and rivers offer spaces on your doorstep to relax and reconnect when we need them the most.

Enjoy a cycle ride along the Coventry Canal in Warwickshire.

Distance: 5 miles one way / 10 miles return

This route is suitable for children.

Join the Coventry Canal at either Fazeley, Kettlebrook Road, Glascote Locks, Glascote Road or Amington Road.

Continue along the towpath passing the Gate Inn at Amington, stop off here for a drink or food, there is a park for the children and outdoor seating overlooking the canal.

Carry on and you'll arrive at Alvecote Marina. The Samuel Barlow pub serves food and has an outdoor area for drinks overlooking the marina.

As you leave Alvecote you will go under bridge. Either stay on the canal or bear left and join the cycle path that takes you through the lovely Pooley Park Nature reserve, there are lots of different routes through here.
