Wellbeing by water

Here at the Canal & River Trust we believe that life is better by water. Whatever you’re doing, whether it’s walking the dog, cycling to work or just looking for a place to relax, doing it next to our waterways can make you healthier and happier.

We all want to feel a sense of wellbeing. Life can be tough and we all need a space where we can get away from the noise, pressure and pollution of every day life. 

Here at the Trust we take pride in making sure there's something for everyone to love on their local canal or river. Try and make room for our canals in your day to day life and feel better.

We want to see more people taking advantage of the many different activities and opportunities they offer on a daily basis. Boating, walking, canoeing, angling and cycling are all great ways of enjoying our waterways.

There are so many ways of making yourself feel better next to water. Find out all about the wildlife that you can spot on your commute to work, the history of the canals that you can sit by on your lunchbreak or the art you’ll pass on your way to the shops.
