Opening times
For Vale Royal, Hunts, Saltersford and Dutton Locks
- Until, and inclusive of Sunday 6 April 2025, bookings along the four locks can be made via your online account.
- From Monday 7 April to Friday 31 October 2025, lock keepers will be onsite to operate the four locks seven days a week, as per the following times. No booking required.
- Monday to Friday: 8:30am – 5pm. Last entry at 4:30pm
- Saturdays, Sundays & Bank Holiday Mondays: 9am – 6pm. Last entry at 5:30pm
Passage through Marsh Lock on the Weaver Navigation and Lock 1, Whitby Lock on the Shropshire Union Canal, via the Manchester Ship Canal, can be booked via your online account.
The below bridges along the Weaver Navigation are capable of being swung for larger vessels. Please contact our local team if you require navigation and exceed the below dimensions.
