Welshpool wharf festival

Welshpool

Welshpool lies on the Montgomery Canal known as 'the Monty'. Regularly voted the prettiest canal, the Welshpool section was one of the first to be for pleasure use after being abandoned during WWII.

The towpath here is part of the Severn Way and National Cycle Network route 81, a number of other walks and trails are available from the Welshpool Tourist Information Centre. Or stop by the Powysland Museum, which sits in Welshpool Wharf for a little more local history.
