The charity making life better by water

Canal boats moored across a basin, surrounded by converted red-brick warehouses

Market Harborough

Market Harborough's restored Union Wharf is at the end of the Grand Union Canal's Market Harborough Arm. Once a bustling industrial quarter, the red-brick warehouses have mostly been converted to waterside apartments.

Now a hub of creative activity and home to hire boats, Union Wharf is a great place to take a walk or sit and relax. Visit Market Harborough's 'Frank the Plank' (the human sundial) to teach your young ones to tell the time in a very different way. Plus, the basin provides a tranquil space to see waterfowl.
