Tidal lock operation in the East Midlands
Torksey lock core operating hours are: 7am to 9pm in summer (the earlier of Good Friday or 1 April to 30 September) and 8am to 4pm in winter.
- Lock Keepers attendance on site is dependent on tide times and bookings.
- Bookings must be made by calling Torksey Lock on 07884 238781 at least 48 hours in advance. Your booking ensures lock keeper availability making best use of our limited resources.
- We advise boaters to radio or call the lock keeper approximately 15 minutes before arrival to allow time for lock preparation and guidance, taking into account weather, flood conditions, and other factors.
