Please be aware that sections of the towpath between Bull Bridge and Shepley Lock will be closed whilst improvement works are carried out, these are due to begin the week commencing 21st April 2025.
1.2km length of towpath improvement works with a finished surface of tar spray and chip.
The Trust is working in partnership with Kirklees Council who have been awarded funding through Network Rails Trans Pennine Upgrade project to provide a sealed surface between the ramp off Station Road and the wooden access barrier near the bridge at Shepley Marina.
Works are being carried out by Jackson Civils and are programmed to take 9 weeks. (this could be subject to change depending on progress/issues found when on site).
It is anticipated that the navigation and towpath will remain open during this time. Pedestrians will be guided through the works if required.
This notice will be updated when works have been completed.
