Towpath Closure: Sneyd Junction Bridge to Stubbs Bridge, Wyrley & Essington Canal

We are pleased to advise the towpath has opened here ahead of schedule.

Description

The towpath will be closed from Sneyd Junction Bridge to Stubbs Bridge on the Wyrley & Essington Canal. This is for improvement works starting 20th March and finishing 28th July.

The construction and refurbishment of the new towpath surfacing will be done with a spray and chip surfacing. The works will also include the installation of solar powered light emitting diode (LED) lighting system to illuminate the side of the towpath nearest the waters edge.

The works will be completed in 2 sections. The other section that will be closed is Hildicks Bridge to Teeces Bridge from 14th July to 5th December. Please refer to separate notice:
