Description
Please be advised third-party contractors will be onsite to carry out a repair to the damaged edge of the towpath that forms a boundary with the canal at Miles Platting (Manchester) area, on the Rochdale canal.
As a result, the towpath will be closed to all users between Lock 79, Coal Pit Middle and Lock 81 Butler Street, however, signage will be displayed with a diversion route, will be in place.
Whilst the canal will remain open to navigation, boaters may be asked to stop and wait whilst access to the locks is made safe during the working hours.
We politely request all customers to approach the area with caution and to listen to any advice that may be given by the contractors onsite.
