Description
Leicester City Council will be erecting scaffolding and carrying out repairs to the parapets and wingwalls of Aylestone Mill Bridge for 4 weeks from the 10th August. The repairs will include inserting of metal tie-bars into the parapets, the wingwalls and repointing areas of the bridge. During the works the towpath under the bridge will be closed, however a parallel path around the bridge (commonly used as the towpath) will remain open.
It should be noted that the road over the bridge, and thus access to the Aylestone Meadows car park, will be closed for the duration of the works.
