Apologies for the delay in this notice update, our systems went down yesterday afternoon and we were unable to publish the below update.
Please be advised navigation will remain closed between Bridge 2 and 3 on the Macclesfield Canal whilst we await the results from the Ground Penetrating Radar Survey. Our engineers will then need to review the findings to plan a method of action.
An update will be provided Tuesday, 17 March 2020.

Please be advised our contractors are installing dams onsite today. The dams are being placed in the canal between Bridge 2, Church Lane Bridge and Bridge 3, Eccles Bridge on the Macclesfield Canal, reducing the affected area of the closure.
Once the dams are in place, we will undertake a Ground Penetrating Radar Survey to ascertain the extent of the issue.
Please note the location and title of this notice has been amended to reflect this new information. Original closure was between the Marple Junction and Bridge 4 on the Macclesfield Canal.
If you are between our closure at Bollington and Bridge 3, your nearest waterpoint is at Bridge 14 and Marple Services can be accessed via the towpath.
An update will be provided Tuesday, 10 March 2020.
