The bees are still causing a health and safety issue for contractors to safely clear this tree.
As soon as we have a timescale for the removal we will update this notice.

The bees have started to leave the nest, but works to the tree cannot start until they have gone.
Narrowboats are able to navigate past the tree slowly and with care, however widebeam boats will struggle.
We will update this notice as soon as we have more information.

We have not yet been able to source a bee keeper to safely remove the nest.
The navigation remains closed until such time we are able to safely clear the nest and then the tree.
We wil update this notice as soon as we have more information.

After further investigation is has now been identified that there is a large bees nest in one of the tree, with this in mind contractors will not be able to attend until the bees have been removed - Please bear with us at this time whilst we get the bees removed by a professional bee keeper - Many Thanks

The Team have been out to assess the issue - Please be aware that Narrowboats can pass with care but wide beamed craft will not be able to pass - We are now gathering as much information as we can to pass over to contractors so the trees can be cleared, please bear with us whilst we try to get contractors to site. This notice will be updated throughout the day or as soon as we are aware when contractors can attend site.

We have had reports of a fallen tree down at Thurmaston Lock which is blocking the Navigation - A Team are on their way out to assess the situation and see if contractors are needed - We will update this notice as we receive information throughout the day.
