Descriptions

Update 27 June 2025 1:02 pm

Further to our previous notice and given the predicted continuing warm weather, the Sharpness bridges will not be operated until Monday 7th July, from when early tides coinciding with the coolest part of the day are expected.

In the meantime, we continue to seek solutions to this ongoing difficulty.   Please contact the pier-head in the usual way to make arrangements for passage after this date.

You are welcome to contact us at [email protected] or 03030 404040 if you would like to discuss this information with a member of our Customer Service Team.

Original 19 June 2025 3:31 pm

Please be advised that the two bridges, Bridge 1 (Low Level Bridge), and Bridge 2 (High Level Bridge) at Sharpness, have unfortunately become largely inoperable due to the current spell of hot weather.

Given the forecast, we expect this to remain the case for some days and have therefore taken the reluctant decision not to operate the bridge until Monday 23rd June, due to its unreliability.

From Monday 23rd June until Friday 28th, bookings will be accepted for the morning tides only, when the bridge will be coolest and should operate.

Please contact the pier-head in the usual way to make arrangements for passage, directly with the Sharpness Team.

We will update this notice by Friday 28th or earlier if the situation improves.

You are welcome to contact us at [email protected] or 03030 404040 if you would like to discuss this information with a member of our Customer Service Team.
