The charity making life better by water

Welsh canals on TV

Tune into ITV Cymru Wales on Friday to see Coast & Country presenter Carl Edwards starting his tour of the welsh waterways on the Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal.

Watch the programme to see Carl learn how to drive a narrowboat, how to navigate through locks, wind up drawbridges and find out all about the canal's history.

He'll also meet a couple of lively canal characters including Wood turner Harry, who makes plates and bowls from wood that he finds near the canal and Alister Clifford, who uses the picturesque backdrops of the canal as inspiration for his paintings.

During the rest of the series Carl, who is travelling with his dog Teggy, will cruise along the Montgomery Canal and the Llangollen Canal, where he gets to cross the world-famous Pontcysyllte Aqueduct. If you're considering a cruise along the Welsh canals this is a must-watch programme.

Every Friday

Coast & Country is on ITV Cymru Wales every Friday at 8.00pm for the next four weeks and will return in the autumn for another series, on . If you don't get this channel you can watch it online after the programme has aired at www.itv.com/coastandcountry
