The charity making life better by water

Visionary leader for the North West needed

We're looking for a new, visionary leader to play a vital role in shaping the future policy for canals in Lancashire, Merseyside and West Yorkshire.

The voluntary post holder will chair the our North West partnership board, providing strategic direction for the future care of the Leeds & Liverpool and Lancaster Canals.

The bi-centennial celebrations for the Leeds & Liverpool Canal in 2016 and the new Super Slow Way arts project are just two of the exciting projects coming up on the North West waterway.

The post holder would be expected to get involved in these and other waterway initiatives by working at a strategic level with business, community groups and other key stakeholders, as well as working closely with our team in the North West. Time commitment for the post is expected to be about two days a month and travel expenses are reimbursed.

Unique opportunity

Chantelle Seaborn, North West waterway manager with the Canal & River Trust, explained: “We are very keen to find someone used to working at a senior level who is passionate about protecting and promoting our wonderful waterways.

“The role involves chairing our bi-monthly partnership board meetings and providing strategic direction and inspiration for how the Trust manages its waterways. This is a unique opportunity to make a difference.”

Deadline for applications is Friday 5 December 2014. For more information contact Chantelle Seaborn on 0303 040 4040
