Spooky Halloween fun at Stoke Bruerne

Dare to get spooked this Halloween? Visitors to Stoke Bruerne in Northamptonshire should prepare for some spine-tingling fun as part of a series of spooktacular events taking place at the Canal Museum and along the Grand Union Canal.

Halloween

Taking place between Friday 28 to Sunday 30 October a series of ‘bone chilling' adventures is being organised by the Trust, working in partnership with Stoke Bruerne Boat Company, and will involve a number of truly fearful family friendly attractions both on and off the water including:

  • spooky evening boat trip into Blisworth Tunnel. A friendly witch amongst our crew will tell creepy tales of the hauntings in the tunnel that is over 200 years old. Each brave soul who enters the tunnel will also get a Halloween treat! (Saturday only)
  • scary after dark trail around the museum with some surprises and your chance to spot the resident ghost (Saturday only)
  • creepy walk through the woods and a haunted trail through the museum (daytime only)
  • free face painting

Stephanie Furniss, duty manager at the Canal Museum, said: "This Halloween's event is going to be our scariest yet. Everyone coming along is encouraged to dress up in their best Halloween outfits, get your face painted and have a frightfully fun adventure along the canal."

To avoid disappointment the boat trips need to be pre booked and run on Saturday 29 October at 5:15pm, 6pm & 6:45pm. To book please contact the Canal Museum on 01604 862 229. Each trip will last approximately 45 minutes and cost £3.50 per adult £2.50 per child. Entry into the Canal Museum is free for children after 5pm. Car parking charges apply. Museum closes at 7:30pm on Saturday 29 October.
