Online booking for match fishing on our commercial fisheries

Anglers are now able to use the online booking system to book fishing matches at our commercial fisheries and purchase season permits, in addition to Waterways Wanderers permits.

Match fishing is available at five of our commercial fisheries: Blythe Waters, Boddington Reservoir, Clattercote Reservoir, Earlswood Lakes and Kiveton Waters. Matches can be booked up to 12 months in advance.

A fantastic way to enjoy time by the water

Carl Nicholls, our fisheries & angling technical specialist, said: “We are pleased to be introducing an online booking system for match bookings and season permits at our commercial fisheries and hope anglers and clubs will benefit from a booking process that's available 24 hours a day.

“Angling is a fantastic way to enjoy time by the water, which research shows reduces stress. This has become even more vital as the pandemic has restricted our choices, with fishing proving to be a popular socially distanced pursuit. Match fishing offers the opportunity for a more sociable side of angling and we hope that this is something to look forward to when restrictions lift.”

How to make bookings

Anglers can find out more on the ‘Commercial fisheries' page of the Trust's website. Bookings can be made via the online licensing portal, in the ‘Bookings' section. The online system is already used by anglers for purchasing Waterways Wanderer permits. Anglers will still be able to book by telephone if they are not able to book online.
