The charity making life better by water

New waterside mooring website

We've launched a new website for the sale of our long-term moorings

The new Waterside Mooring website will show all current vacancies on a map or list and provide photos and details of over 300 mooring sites managed by the Trust. In time there will be videos of locations to give people a better feel for the sites.

People will be able to add sites to a personalised ‘watch list' so that they will be automatically notified if vacancies arise.

News and features

As well as giving boaters more information about the moorings available, there will now be a fixed-price Buy-It-Now option for many of our moorings. In high demand areas there will still be a two-week auction facility for some moorings.

A news and features section will keep people up-to-date with the latest news about the Trust's long term moorings, introduce the mooring managers and show the results of customer surveys.

Purchases of moorings will be fully automated, cutting down the wasteful paperwork and reducing processing time, allowing customers to get their new berths more quickly. For those customers who don't have access to a computer, there will be a telephone facility to help them through the process.

Full of information

Jenny Whitehall, head of the Canal & River Trust's Directly Managed Moorings, said: “The new Waterside Mooring website is packed full of information to help boaters find the perfect spot.

"We want to make sure people have access to everything they need to decide on a safe haven for their boat, and have introduced a whole host of new features to make the task as exciting and pain-free as possible. It's a big change from the old site and we hope that boaters will find it much easier to navigate.”
