The six month project will include replacing half of the fishing platforms located near the sailing club at Drayton Reservoir in Daventry.
Once finished the much larger platforms will give more space to fish as well as having the option to fish together on one platform meaning that younger or inexperienced anglers can benefit from some guidance and support from more experienced anglers.
Sociable
John Ellis, national fisheries & angling manager for the Canal & River Trust, said: “The benefit of this new style platform will mean that friends and families can fish together and yet still have the space for all the kit they need.
“Some people like fishing alone, but for those who don't these platforms means you can be sociable, or not, you can take your pick!”
