Future of Manchester's canals under the spotlight

The future of Manchester’s canal heritage comes under the spotlight at our regional waterway partnership annual ‘outburst’ on Thursday 11th June.

The Manchester & Pennine Waterway is inviting anyone with an interest in the local canals to join them in the discussion. Five minute soapbox sessions are available to people who have a particular point to raise.

Canal poet laureate Jo Bell, Canal & River Trust chief executive Richard Parry and Jessica Bowles from Manchester City Council will be among a range of guest speakers contributing to the debate.

The event will be held at the Mechanics Institute, 103 Princess Street, Manchester, M1 6DD, from 9am – 2pm, including a buffet lunch.

Tickets are free but places must be booked in advance with Tracey Jackson by emailing her on [email protected] or calling 03030 404040/4211.
