Drifters offers holiday taster sessions

Drifters Waterway Holidays is offering people the chance to try canal boating for free at 15 of its bases in England and Wales over weekend of 12-13 April 2014.

Drifters' taster sessions will include boat tours, holiday discounts and free trips on skippered boats. Full details of what each site is offering can be found at http://www.drifters.co.uk/open-days-2014.html. No booking is required.

Tim Parker, chairman of Drifters Waterway Holidays, explains: “Britain's beautiful 3,000-mile canal and river network is in better shape than ever, so there's never been a better time to try a canal boat holiday.

“Over 370,000 people go canal boating each year and around a fifth of hire boaters are new to this kind of holiday every season, showing it's easy to learn how to steer a boat. We hope our free taster sessions will introduce many more people to the joys of a holiday afloat on our wonderful canals.”

Drifters offers over 500 boats for hire, operating from 37 bases across the country. All of its operators provide hirers with boat steering tuition as part of their hire fee. Prices for short breaks (three or four nights) start at £415, weekly breaks from £575. For more information, visit www.drifters.co.uk/ or call 0844 984 0322.
