The canals are a form of easy escapism. Nothing beats pounding along the towpath, hearing birds singing in the trees around me.

Why is it good to take notice?

Taking notice of the world around you, sometimes known as mindfulness, is a helpful way to ground yourself when you find yourself getting lost in negative thoughts.

It's widely recommended for everybody who would like to improve their mental health and general wellbeing.
