The charity making life better by water

Number 9: Simon Nickless

It’s 30 years since Simon triumphed in the Matchman of the Year competition

Simon Nickless & Steve Dudley Canal Pairs Champions 2016 being presented with the cheque from David Kent and Richard Parry

He's been winning matches for nearly 40 years and has probably won contests on more different British canals than any other angler ever. With Steve Dudley, he took the canal pairs championship crown in 2016 on the Staffordshire & Worcester Canal and was part of the Sensas Black County Division Two winning national team in the same year.

Simon is the epitome of consistency and his ability to extract every fish out of a mediocre peg was perfectly demonstrated in the 2018 pairs final. Those around him were recording under 2 pounds whereas Simon managed double that.

We predict his Sensas Black Country team will once again be challenging for the medals in the 2019 Division Two National You can find out much more about Simon's career on a previous story.
