Updates

11/12/2024 11:39

Navigation has now been temporarily closed due to the impact of Storm Darragh, which has caused additional trees and rockfall to obstruct the route. Please refer to the new notice for further details:

The navigation remains restricted where the rock falls have occurred. The towpath also remains closed. We're currently unable to provide a date for when the towpath is likely to re-open, as it will require significant clearance works and stabilisation.

We will provide an update as soon as a repair plan is agreed & funding is secured. In the meantime, we kindly remind boaters to please take care if passing, sticking to the towpath side.

Description

A small landslip has caused trees & rocks to fall from the offside, restricting navigation between Bridge 56 & Bridge 57.

Navigation remains open but boaters are asked to pass with care, keeping to the towpath side.

Engineers will be assessing the situation today.
