We are pleased to advise Lock 65, Wheelock Top Offside Lock on the Trent & Mersey Canal has now been repaired and is back in operation.

Our teams have found the fault to the cill at Lock 65, Wheelock Top Offside Lock on the Trent & Mersey Canal and will be back onsite early next week to repair. The team will then check all the lock’s operational components to ensure usability.

Our team have installed stop planks at Lock 65, Wheelock Top Offside Lock on the Trent & Mersey Canal ready for scaffolding to be installed onsite next week to enable our teams to investigate the issue with the cill.

Due to the current location of workboats and other equipment needed, these works are subject to status of ongoing closures and further subject to arising emergency works within the North West.

Due to a new Mandatory Standard imposed in October 2020, further approval regarding the creation of Stop Planks was needed which has delayed the works at Lock 65, Wheelock Top Offside Lock on the Trent & Mersey Canal.

The design of the Stop Planks has now been approved and our teams are working on dates to able to dewater the lock.
