We have encountered a delay in completion of the renovation work at Saltersford Lock due to a breakdown of the crane boat. This has meant work on site unfortunately has had to be suspended.
We hope to be back on site on Monday 29th March and will complete our works by 9th April.
We apologise for the late notification of this change.

We have been reviewing the methodology for the renovation and repairs at Saltersford Lock.
Whilst this means we will be unable to start on site until 1st February, the programme of works will now be shorter than originally expected and we still anticipate re-opening the navigation, as planned, on 19th March.
We apologise for any inconvenience this delayed start may cause.

Unfortunately we have been unable to start renovation work at Saltersford Lock due to availability of people, resources and water resources which are needed for emergency works elsewhere.
This stoppage has now been deferred to January 2021.
We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience which may be caused by this change to plan.
Description
A stoppage is required to carry out works to renovate the paddle drums, change the control panels and renew hydraulic lines.
