We have been informed by Midland Metro that they will be unable to complete the installation of their new bridge deck, following delays with its fabrication due to Covid restrictions. As a result, the navigation will re-open earlier than originally planned, on Wednesday 25th November.

However, please note the towpath will remain closed until 6th December while brickwork repairs continue.

Installation of the bridge deck will be postponed until a later date. Further information will be posted when more details are available.

Description

As part of the Wednesbury to Brierley Hill Metro extension, Midland Metro Alliance (MMA) has requested a closure to carry out repairs to the bridge to make it ready to take the new metro line.
