Volunteer at this beautiful World Heritage Site on the Llangollen Canal.
We're currently recruiting for the following volunteer roles:
Destination Assistant – in this role as a volunteer retail & customer service assistant you will be serving customers and handling their enquiries at this small but busy visitor attraction. The role includes manning the till, ensuring the shop and museum areas are kept well presented at all times. You will also need to answering questions about the World Heritage Site, so localknowledge would be good, but not essential as training will be given.
Towpath Ranger - Rangers are the eyes and ears of the local waterway, a friendly face who is happy engaging with towpath visitors including boaters, walkers and cyclists. This opportunity is based outside patrolling the aqueduct and basin. We are particularly looking for volunteers who would be interested in promoting our ‘Share the Space’ campaign - aiming to positively engage with all of our visitors to the canal and promote a relationship between anglers, dog walkers, casual walkers, boaters and cyclists.
Events Volunteer - if you like the waterways, love meeting new people, get excited about glitter glue or would like to help run a charity stall selling books or bric-a-brac, then why not join our team of events volunteers? As a friendly face and through fun activities you will help engage people with your local waterway.
Explorer’s Education Volunteer - we are looking for volunteers to join the Explorer education team with tasks including leading school visits or assisting with family activities at events.
