Cheshire Scouts - Cheshire Hike 2024
The Cheshire Hike is an annual competition hike organised and delivered entirely by volunteer leaders on behalf of Cheshire Scouts. The event is for scouts and explorer scouts aged from 11 to 17 in teams plotting and walking routes of varying distances over 2 days while carrying kit for the weekend. It is an event open to Cheshire scout members only with no participation by the public either as competitors or spectators. The routes take in roads and footpaths to navigate from a start location to a campsite on Saturday evening and onto a finish on Sunday afternoon. The event is tracked from a central control room with mobile marshals, first aiders and regular checkpoints communicating by radio to ensure safe passage of the event.
