Chiltern Canal Boat Holidays is family run business offering canal boat hire for short breaks or full weeks on our bespoke narrowboats. Based on the south Grand Union canal, our route runs through the beautiful Chiltern Hills in Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Bedfordshire where you can explore the English countryside with its traditional villages and historic market towns.
Our Hire Boats
Perfect for families and couples, our narrowboats are each unique, provide accommodation for 2-5 people, and come equipped with everything you need to enjoy your holiday on the Grand Union canal. We'll also provide you with all safety equipment and a hands on tutorial of how to drive a narrowboat and work the locks and bridges, so no experience is necessary!
Location
The cruising route along the Grand Union canal starts from Cow Roast Marina (which is conveniently located just a short drive from the M25) and runs either southwards to the lovely historic town of Berkhamsted, or northwards through the Chiltern Hills Countryside with plenty of nature reserves, countryside villages, scenic walking trails and family friendly activities to enjoy. You can also cruise the secluded Wendover Arm and the Aylesbury Arm.
