Braunston Canal Society

We are a group of volunteers based in Braunston. The society, started in 2012, adopted a two mile stretch of the Grand Union canal that includes Braunston's flight of six double locks. 2018 saw the current active membership of 26 working in partnership with Canal & River Trust to carry out general maintenance of locks, towpaths, hedges, offside vegetation, moorings and other structures on Trust property. We have regular bi-monthly task parties for larger projects plus additional days where smaller groups undertake more specialised tasks. All safety equipment is supplied and we are fully insured by Canal & River Trust when volunteering. No membership fee required. Just come along and enjoy yourself.
