The walk, run by Canal & River Trust, will be led by volunteer walk leaders who are full of interesting information about the local area.
The walk is up to the reservoirs and along the canal to the local recreation ground where youngsters can play on the playground equipment and parents can sit on the benches! Along the way we will explain how the reservoir and canal system work, and hope that a boat or two comes along so we can demonstrate the canal lock operation. We can then walk back along the canal to the Waters Edge cafe and car park.
Approximate distance 1.2 miles. Suitable for families with children 10 and able to walk – not suitable for pushchairs or strollers (Parents must accompany their children). This walk is not suitable for mobility scooters or wheelchairs. Car Park cost is £2.50 for 3 hours, £4 all day.
The great thing about walking is that you do not need any fancy equipment. Please just wear comfortable shoes and bring a jacket if raining.
