The stables sit alongside Dudley Canal, near the top of the historic “nine locks”, and are the last surviving canalside stable block in the Black Country. The event provides local people with free, fun activities, with a chance to make Christmas decorations, themed photo opportunities, and an opportunity for children to meet Santa Claus.
Visitors can enjoy a free tea or coffee while listening to (and hopefully joining in with) carol singers who’ll perform alongside the canal. There is no parking available at the site itself, but plenty of parking nearby. The closest pedestrian access from the road is via steps down from Mill Street, but there is sloped access further along the canal in either direction.
