Learn about plants and printmaking along the Grand Union Canal (families)

Join us for a fun and engaging morning learning about the plants that grow along London’s canals. We will go on a short walk where you and your family can have a go at identifying plants with the help of a hand out and guidance from the workshop leader. You will then be shown how to make cyanotype prints using cuttings of plants from along the canal and you will get to make your own prints that you can take home with you.

Print making will take place on board our floating classroom – a boat called JENA, which means the event can take place whatever the weather, but we recommend bringing rain coats for the walk section of the session.

What is Cyanotype?

Cyanotype is one of the first forms of photography it is a camera-less technique that involves laying an object on photosensitive paper, exposing it to sun light and then washing with water to create stunning white and Prussian blue images.
