The survey planned on Purton Upper Safety Gates has been delayed and will not begin on Monday 25 November 2024.

We will update this notice with the new closure dates as soon as they are confirmed.

Description

We would like to advise you of this additional closure to the Winter Works Programme.

We are surveying the inside and outside of all 4 safety gates. They will be opened one at a time to allow the inspection and as such the navigation would be impassable.

We will be closing the canal from 25 November through to 04 December 2024.

There will be a one hour navigational window on Thursday the 28 November from 8:45 to 09:45.

The towpath will remain open.
