Our local engineers have organised a method of repair for the paddles, at Lock 63 towpath side and Lock 64 offside on the Trent & Mersey Canal.

These works will be carried out in our winter programme.

Navigation will remain open and we ask that boaters continue to use Lock 63 offside and Lock 64 towpath side.

A further update will be provided Thursday 2 January 2025.

Our local engineers are still trying to organise a method of repair for the paddles, that are losing a substantial amount of water at Lock 63 towpath side and Lock 64 offside on the Trent & Mersey Canal.
Navigation will remain open and we ask that boaters continue to use Lock 63 offside and Lock 64 towpath side.
A further update will be provided Friday 8 November.

Our local engineers are currently organising a method of repair for the paddles at Lock 63 towpath side and Lock 64 offside on the Trent & Mersey Canal.

Navigation will remain open, requesting boaters to use at Lock 63 offside and Lock 64 towpath side.

A further update will be provided Friday 4 October.

Following an investigation at lock 63 towpath side and lock 64 offside on the Trent and Mersey Canal. Our teams and engineers are currently working on a method of repair to fix the leaking paddles. During this time Lock 63 towpath side and lock 64 offside will remain closed restricting use to just lock 63 offside and lock 64 towpath side.

Our team will continue to monitor the situation and a further update will be issued on Friday, 20th September.

Description

lease be advised due to severe leakage through both paddles at Lock 63, towpath side lock, on the Trent and Mersey Canal, we need to close the lock to prevent boats getting stuck whilst using the lock.

Our teams are now in the process of planning the repair for both paddles.

Whilst our team work to repair the towpath side lock, the offside lock will remain open.

A further update will be provided Friday 13 September.
