Access continues to be restricted on the Erewash canal between Sandiacre lock and Gallows Inn lock. Boaters can only travel between the hours of 9am and 4pm.
Outside of these hours, the locks will be chained off and there will be no passage through.

It will continue to be restricted access going forward, while we continue to manage the water levels as best we can, and so boaters will only be able to travel along the Erewash canal between the hours of 9am and 4pm.

The water levels have now rectified themselves on the Erewash Canal between Sandiacre Lock 63 and Gallows Inn Lock 67.
The navigation is now open until 4pm today, and our boaters can proceed as normal.
It will be restricted access going forward, while we continue to manage the water levels as best we can, and so boaters will only be able to travel along the Erewash canal between the hours of 9am and 4pm.
Outside of these hours, the locks will be chained off and there will be no passage through.

Our local team has been doing water control all day and there has been a significant improvement between Sandiacre Lock 63 and Gallows Inn Lock 67.
We have have made the decision to keep this section closed tonight, so the levels can continue to recover and then our local team will be reviewing the situation first thing in the morning.
We will then update this notice by the end of the day tomorrow with regards how the navigation will be managed over the weekend.

Water levels on the Erewash have fallen again overnight and are not safe for navigation.
Unfortunately, we have had to extend the navigation closure to between Sandiacre lock 63 and Gallows Inn Lock 67.
The team has been on site first thing this morning carrying out water control and other remedial work as they strive for a rapid resolution.
We will update the website tomorrow, 14th September with more information.

Our local team has continued carrying out water control today.
Water levels have now improved significantly on the Erewash Canal between Stanton Lock and Gallows Inn Lock. If this continues overnight, then we are optimistic that we will be able to open the navigation tomorrow.

Our local team has been doing water control over the weekend and all day today.
Water levels have started to improve on the Erewash Canal between Stanton Lock and Gallows Inn Lock but not sufficiently to restore navigation.
To improve the speed of water recovery, the navigation will remain closed between Stanton Lock and Gallows Inn Lock and we will update this notice tomorrow with further information.

Due to further vandalism, water levels continue to be low on the Erewash Canal between Stanton Lock and Gallows Inn Lock. Our local team have been working all week trying to manage the water levels, but based on the current rate of recovery we anticipate that things unfortunately will not improve until after the weekend.
To improve the speed of water recovery we have made the decision to temporarily close the navigation between Stanton Lock and Gallows Inn Lock over the weekend.
We will update this notice on the 11th September with further information.

Water levels on the Erewash Canal between Stanton Lock and Hallam Field's Lock remain low despite the recent water management and control measures we have undertaken.
Based on the current rate of recovery we anticipate that it will be a few more days before the water level is restored.
To improve the speed of water recovery we have made the decision to temporarily close the navigation between Stanton Lock and Hallam Field's Lock.
We will update this notice by the 8th September with further information.

Water levels between Stanton lock and Hallam Fields Lock on the Erewash canal have slightly improved.
Our local team continue to monitor the situation.
Boaters are asked to only travel this section if absolutely necessary.
