Description
Please avoid travelling through this area for around 7 weeks. We are currently dealing with a significant bloom of Azolla filiculoides otherwise known as Water Fern. This is an aquatic invasive species that can cause serious issues for our waterways both in terms of navigation & wildlife.
In the next week we will be releasing a biological control to help alleviate these issues and to reduce the spread of the plant. Current costs for tackling this will be in the region of £4,000 and if spread further could cost the Trust significantly more.
However, if you have to use this route please do your best to not navigate directly through large clumps of the weed. Please ensure you follow the Check, Clean, Dry principles before and after you use this route.
