Please be advised that third-party contractors will be onsite between Lock 1, Top Lock and Lock 2, Bottom Lock on the Leigh Branch (Leeds & Liverpool Canal).
The third-party contractors, working on behalf of Electricity Northwest will be excavating for a cable under the towpath to carry out repairs.
The towpath will remain closed and a diversion route will be in place. Boaters to re-board when leaving locks 1 and 2.
Whilst the navigation will remain open we politely request all customers to approach the area with caution.
Please take note of the signage and to listen to any advice that may be given by the third party contractors onsite.
