The towpath is open between Bridge 35 Moores Lane to Bridge 39A Chain Bridge on the River Soar.
The chippings will get a final sweep off this weekend and then the works will be completed.
This last stage of the works will not impede users of the towpath, we just ask that they are mindful of the work taking place and proceed with care.

Contractors have completed the spraying and chipping.
The towpath is now fully open but this is not be the final finished surface.
This top coat of chippings will then be left on for six weeks with the final sweep off expected by the end of November, at which point the towpath work will be completed.

The towpath remains open between Bridge 35 Moores Lane to Bridge 39A Chain Bridge on the River Soar.
Due to the recent bad weather, contractors were unfortunately unable to complete the spraying and chipping. They are carrying on with the work this week, and all being well it should be completed by Friday 13th October.
Trust representatives will be on site during this period to escort customers through.
This top coat of chippings will then be left on for six weeks with the final sweep off expected by the end of November, at which point the towpath work will be completed.

Contractors were unable to complete the spraying and chipping due to recent wet weather conditions. They will be back on site from the 2nd October, and the work will take approximately 5 days. Trust representatives will be on site during this period to escort customers through.
The towpath should be fully open by the 6th October 2023, but this will not be the final finished surface.

The towpath remains open between Bridge 35 Moores Lane to Bridge 39A Chain Bridge on the River Soar.
Contractors are due to spray and chip the whole length from 24th July, which will mean another temporary closure while this work takes place. Signage will be put in place to advise accordingly.
This top coat of chippings is left on for six weeks with the final sweep off expected by the 4th September, at which point the towpath work will be completed.

Loughborough towpath update - The first stage of works is complete and the towpath is now currently open between Bridge 35 Moores Lane to Bridge 39A Chain Bridge on the River Soar.
Mid July, our chipping contractor will be on site to spray and chip the whole length, which will mean another temporary closure while this work takes place.
This is left on for six weeks with the final sweep off expected by 20th July, at which point the towpath will be re-opened again.

To ensure the safety of the public and our contractors the towpath continues to be closed between Bridge 35 Moores Lane to Bridge 39A Chain Bridge on the River Soar.
The project is to improve 2km of Grand Union Canal towpath through Loughborough town centre from Bridge 39a to Bridge 35.
Our contractors aim to complete the construction work by 6th June.
Our chipping contractor will then be on site to spray and chip the whole length. This is left on for six weeks with the final sweep off expected by 20th July, at which point the towpath will be re-opened and accessible as normal.

To ensure the safety of the public and our contractors the towpath will be closed between Bridge 35 Moores Lane to Bridge 39A Chain Bridge on the River Soar.
This is for improvement works starting on 3rd January for 16 weeks.
The project is to improve 2km of Grand Union Canal towpath through Loughborough town centre from Bridge 39a to Bridge 35. This will include upgrading to provide a consistent high standard tar and chip surface, install sheet piled washwall ,remove barriers and improve access points.
Mooring is suspended at this location whilst the works are being completed.
