Updates

14/03/2023 16:07

We would like to advise our customers that we have completed our planned winter works and the navigation is now open. Please note that the restriction at Llangynidr (culverts 31a and 29) is still in place. There have also been some fallen trees following the strong winds and our contractors are working to get these removed as soon as possible, a separate notice has been published so please refer to the new notice for updates on when the trees have been cleared.

We would like to update our customers on these ongoing works. We have now completed the repair and the navigation has been re-watered. However, we need to monitor the repair for a short while. When we are confident that no further work is required we will update this notice to advise.

Description

We would like to advise of this additional stoppage being added to our winter works programme.

Repair works are required to resolve some leakage on the soft bank near Brynich just upstream of Brynich Lock. A stoppage is required as the works need to be undertaken without water in the section to ensure work can be carried out safely and effectively.

Machinery will be in use throughout this period which may mean customers on the towpath are asked to wait for short periods of time before passing safely.

We hope that this change additional works doesn't cause any inconvenience.
