We would like to inform you that we have made the decision to defer this stoppage and remove it from our winter stoppage programme.
The repair works planned were to stem water loss through the lock. Further investigations have been carried out and the team have explored several options on how best to dewater the lock. Due to this being a river lock, there are many variables to consider, this stoppage was a later addition to the winter works programme.
This has provided less opportunity for the delivery team to understand all the site limitations and conditions ahead of carrying out the repairs.
In conclusion, the team have decided it is best to withdraw the stoppage from the winter programme at this time. We are looking to begin consultations at the possibility of a summer closure for these works.
We hope that this change doesn't cause any inconvenience.
