Please be advised there has been a delay for the contractors attending Wharton's lock 10 on the Shropshire Union Canal and the offside gate remains out of use.
Our local team is working to plan a temporary method of repair until a permanent one can be scheduled.
Whilst navigation is possible, we advise all customers to operate the lock with care.
A further update will be given by 30th June.
Please be advised that due to damage caused by suspected boat impact, there is a restriction to only use the offside gate of Wharton's Lock 10 on the Shropshire Union canal.
Our contractors will be onsite to assess and plan for the metal work fabrication so the repair to the gate can be completed.
Whilst navigation and towpath will remain open, we politely request all customers to approach the area with caution and take care when navigating through the lock.
