Some essential repair works have needed to be carried out at our Bradley Workshop. This caused a 6 week delay in gate production which means that 6 lock gate leaves have been deferred for a future year. This has opened a window of opportunity. The Construction Manager and their team have reviewed the West Midlands program and have decided to take advantage of the fact that this section of the Caldon Canal is already closed off for the rebuild works taking place at Bridge 37.
The team can work alongside the works at Bridge 37 and this means that the navigation will only be closed once rather than twice. We hope this change doesn't cause any inconvenience for you.
