Contractors have advised that the piles, which are coming from Europe, have been delayed because of Covid restrictions.

The work will now start on 21st February when they are delivered.

Description

Contractors are carrying out piling work in relation to the installation of a new bridge associated with the A629 roadwork improvements.

Navigation traffic should not be affected as this is an overnight stoppage.

The pontoons being used may cause a restriction in the width of the canal during the daytime but boat passage will not be effected.

Can skippers of all craft slow down when approaching the site and follow any instructions given.

Please see separate notice regarding towpath diversion route.
