We are pleased to advise the water levels between Lock 66, Tannersfield Highest Lock to Lock 77, Anthony Lock on the Rochdale Canal have resumed back to a navigable level and navigation is now open.

Water levels have greatly improved between Lock 66, Tannersfield Highest Lock to Lock 77, Anthony Lock on the Rochdale Canal, however navigation remains closed to allow the larger pounds to fully recover.

Whilst we have seen some improvement to the water levels between Lock 66, Tannersfield Highest Lock to Lock 77, Anthony Lock on the Rochdale Canal, navigation remains closed as our teams continue to send water down to the affected area.

Our team continue to work on improving the water levels between Lock 66, Tannersfield Highest Lock to Lock 77, Anthony Lock on the Rochdale Canal and whilst there has been some improvement, the levels remain too low for navigation.
Whilst we have experienced some rain, it has not been enough to supply a sufficient feed to the area and it is taking longer than we had anticipated to resume normal navigable water levels.
We have taken the decision to close navigation from Lock 66 to Lock 77 today with hope that the water levels will back to normal tomorrow morning.
An update will be provided tomorrow, Thursday 6 May.
