Please be advised, the booms have been removed from navigation following the pollution incident at Bridge 104, Calveley Turnover Bridge on the Shropshire Union Canal, however navigation remains closed due to the water levels.

Our teams continue to monitor the area in relation to the ongoing pollution incident at Bridge 104, Calveley Turnover Bridge on the Shropshire Union Canal. Unfortunately, we have suffered some vandalism and the boom has been removed from site by a third party.

Navigation remains closed and a further update will be provided by Monday 1 February.

Unfortunately, our teams have noted further pollution at Bridge 104, Calveley Turnover Bridge on the Shropshire Union canal. Navigation remains closed as booms remain in place to contain the pollution and our teams will continue to monitor the area.

Please be advised navigation remains closed at Bridge 104, Calveley Turnover Bridge on the Shropshire Union canal due to the ongoing pollution incident.

Our team will be onsite tomorrow to remove the residual layer that remains on the surface. A further update will be provided tomorrow, Friday 22 January.

Description

Due to a pollution incident that has occurred by bridge 104 on the Shropshire Union canal. We have had to close the navigation. Our teams have installed booms in place to restrict further spread of the pollution. We will provide an update on Thursday 21st January afternoon.
